Leather furniture supplier Kuka Home is moving its showroom to Furniture Plaza for next month's High Point Market.
The company, which had been showing in the IHFC, will exhibit in a 24,000-square-foot showroom in Space 615 of Furniture Plaza. The new showroom is 3,000 square feet bigger than its previous location.
According to Annette Young, manager of Kuka Home's High Point office, the company opted to move for two reasons - to create room for future product expansions and to make it easier for retailers to shop its line.
"As our line continues to grow, we're looking at expanding into new product categories that will require us to have more showroom space," Young said. "We chose Furniture Plaza because its exhibitor mix draws many of the same retailers with whom we do business. The new location will be more convenient for our retailers."
Kuka Home, which has been doing business in the United States for about five years, has added a number of new top 100 retailers to its customer base during 2012, according to Young. "We are an up-and-coming company that is establishing a reputation for excellent quality, unique styling and accurate, timely delivery," she said.
Founded in 1986, Kuka Home is a China-based, vertically integrated manufacturer with two furniture production facilities, a tannery and a network of more than 1,600 franchised and company-owned stores in China and other countries throughout the world. Its U.S. offerings include leather and fabric upholstery, as well as dining chairs, tables and barstools. The company sells on a direct-container basis, with products priced in the mid-range of the market. Orders are typically shipped from China within four to six weeks.
In High Point, Kuka Home will introduce a line of contemporary styled sectionals. It also will show new dining chairs and barstools.
