HomeGoods Holds Blanket Drive

HomeGoods, Westborough, Mass., is holding its seventh annual blanket drive to benefit the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, the Westborough News reported Tuesday.
The home furnishings retail chain is asking residents to donate gently used blankets, linens and towels to Boston-area HomeGoods stores. HomeGoods also will make a $10,000 donation the coalition.
Donations will go to the coalition's Furniture Bank and be made available to homeless families and individuals living. The drive will run Jan. 10-24.
According to the state of Massachusetts, the Commonwealth has more than 3,000 homeless families and more than 2,500 school-aged children in emergency shelters.
All donations should be clean and in good condition. Examples of acceptable donations include blankets, throws, comforters, sleeping bags, bed linens in any size, and bath towels.
