Since the launch of her No. 1-rated TV show, €œDivine Design,€ in 2002, Candice Olson has become one of North America€™s most loved and recognized design personalities, offering her unique advice while taking viewers through a behind-the-scenes look at the design process. With editorial offices in New York and Des Moines, Iowa, Ann and her team create fresh, engaging content that captures the union of timeless deign with modern living, inspiring design lovers to reinterpret classic elegance in a thoroughly modern, personal way. In 2011, Ann directed the successful launch of TRADhommag, a new online magazine, in collaboration with Lonny.

* Bootstrapping Your Brand in a Challenged Economy, Sunday, Oct. 14, 7:30-9 a.m.
The likelihood of an entrepreneur securing venture capital in this economy is roughly equivalent to getting struck by lightning while standing at the bottom of a swimming pool on a sunny day. Does this mean there€™s no hope? Not at all. Moderated by Julia Rosien, president of WithIt and founder and chief idea officer of SocialNorth, a social media strategist firm, this session features two individuals who have built powerhouse brands: designers Kathy Ireland and Angelo Surmelis. In this session, Kathy and Angelo will discuss how to go beyond surviving to thriving. Topics include forecasting from the bottom up, focusing on each battle instead of the whole war, and working with startup-minded people.

Once a supermodel, Kathy Ireland today is recognized as a world-class €œsuper-mogul.€ Founded in 1993, kathy ireland Worldwide is a global design and marketing firm dedicated to €œfinding solutions for families, especially busy moms,€ €œfinding solutions for people in love,€ and €œfinding solutions for people in business.€ License Global Magazine names kathy ireland Worldwide as the 25th most-powerful licensed brand globally, with annual retail sales of $1.9 billion.

Growing up in a family with limited means, Angelo Surmelis went into design to help people create their own dream homes without breaking the bank. During his career, Angelo has appeared on more than 10 design-related TV series and specials on networks such as TLC, Lifetime, Style and HGTV. He also has appeared on €œThe Today Show,€ CNN, €œTyra€ and countless morning shows. His home furnishings collection--angelo:Home--is built around quality, value and ease, with hand-crafted details and no-fuss assembly.
