El Dorado Donates $250K in Furniture

By Home Furnishings Business in Community/Charitable Support on June 28, 2012

El Dorado Furniture has donated more $250,000 in furniture and services through its 45 Years, 45 Families program.

As part of its 45th anniversary celebration, the furniture store has worked for 15 weeks with non-profit organizations and partners in the local media looking for South Florida families in need. With the help of those organizations El Dorado was able to furnish the homes of 45 families. Each of these families visited an El Dorado Furniture showroom to choose their furniture, and El Dorado provided the furniture, delivery, decorating and set up.

On Wednesday, El Dorado Furniture celebrated the conclusion to its 45 Years, 45 Families community effort.

"We were able to help many families, many children," said Vice President of Operations Pedro Capo. "This was truly the best way to celebrate our 45th anniversary, by giving back to our community."

The first El Dorado Furniture opened on June 27, 1967 ,and today the furniture store is ranked among the top 50 furniture retailers in the country. There are 12 stores in South Florida between Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. In 2010, El Dorado Furniture founder Manuel Capo was inducted into the American Furniture Hall of Fame.
