Craftmaster Furniture Expands N.C. Warehouse

Craftmaster Furniture has expanded its warehousing capacity in Taylorsville, N.C., by 50 percent.
We have added the capacity due to the success of the two new programs that we introduced at the past April market," said President and CEO Roy Calcagne of the move, which added 25,000 additional square feet to the upholstered furniture vendor's existing capacity. "The first is a new Quick Ship program that was tremendously successful. The program consists of 10 best selling groups that are in stock and ready to ship within 48 hours. This program is designed to allow our dealers to reduce their inventory levels and let Craftmaster hold the finished products in our facility. We take the inventory risk and cash flow burden off of our customers and provide a very quick turn around at no additional cost."
The second program is the introduction of the new Encore Leather Collection which is a fully built, 100 percentleather product produced in the Lacquercraft facility in Jiashan, China.
The response to this program was overwhelming," Calcagne said. "We underestimated the reaction of our dealers going into market and found that our current capacity was not going to be sufficient to handle the orders we received at the market and afterwards."
The Encore warehouse program stocks 20 leather groups in the Taylorsville facility and offers the dealers the benefit of not having to buy containers if they prefer not to. Although all styles are available on a direct container basis at a reduced price if the dealer would like.
The beauty of this program is that we flow the containers through our facility and allow a dealer to try a few groups from our warehouse program and not have to buy large quantities to test," Calcagne said. "When they are successful, they then have the option to buy on a container direct basis if they choose to. It really takes the inventory risk out of the process when buying new items."
Craftmaster is a subsidiary of Samson Holdings along with Universal Furniture and Legacy Classic Furniture.
