Tax Incentive Plan Spurs Conflict among Furniture Stores

A Bloomington, Ill., family business is accusing the city of giving a competitor an unfair advantage. Aldermen are voting Monday night on a proposed sales tax incentive for a new Ashley Furniture Store at Colonial Plaza. But the manager of Rooms Direct says the incentive creates an unbalanced playing field between the two businesses. "They're not going to expand the market.
