Golf, Tennis Tournament Nets $710K for City of Hope

By Home Furnishings Business in Community/Charitable Support on June 6, 2012

The National Home Furnishings Industry's 21st annual West Coast Golf and Tennis tournament held earlier this week brought in $710,000 for the City of Hope research hospital.

The event, held at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club in Coto de Caza, Calif., honored the Levitz family and its 100-plus-year legacy in the furniture industry. Sam Levitz, Mike Levitz, Shelley Levitz, Phillip Levitz, Alan Levitz, Danny Selznick and Leon Levitz were honored at the event, which was first held in 1989.

The home furnishings industry has been affiliated with City of Hope for 50 years, and continues to raise money to help the research facility find cures for cancer, diabetes and HIV.

Over the years, the golf tournament has raised more than $6 million.
