Jordan's Furniture is hosting A Walk Home: the Walk for Adoption Sunday morning at its Taunton, Mass., store.
The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), in partnership with Jordan's Furniture, is organizing the 3rd annual Walk for Adoption to benefit its work to recruit adoptive parents for children and teens in state foster care. More than 2,000 local children are currently growing up in temporary foster care while waiting for permanent, safe, loving homes.
Jordan's President/CEO Eliot Tatelman will be in attendance to welcome guests and kick-off the Walk at 9:30 a.m.
"What makes a house feel like a home?" Tatelman asked. "It's not furniture. It's family. But thousands of kids living right here in Massachusetts are waiting for all the comforts of home AND family."
The Walk for Adoption is a celebration of adoption, featuring a 5K (or shorter) non-competitive walk as well as children's activities, entertainment, raffles, games, and refreshments.
Walk participants can register online by noon today, or in person at the Walk. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at Jordan's Furniture, 450 Revolutionary Drive, E. Taunton, Mass. Prizes will be awarded for top fundraising individuals and teams
