Consumer sentiment ticked up in April to the highest level since February 2011, as expectations rose while views on current conditions declined, according to a report released Friday by the University of Michigan/Thomson Reuters.
The UMich gauge of consumer sentiment rose to 76.4 at the end of April from 76.2 in March. Economists polled by MarketWatch had expected a final April reading of 75.7 - matching a preliminary reading for this month.
