Furniture Industry Raises $1.5M for City of Hope

By Home Furnishings Business in High Point on April 23, 2012

The annual Spirit of Life gala raised more than $1.5 million for the City of Hope last night at the event honoring Jeff Seaman of Rooms To Go and Bob Sherman of Serta International.

The sold-out event, hosted at Grandover Resort, brought together 800 of the industry's power hitters in support of the medical research facility in Duarte, Calif.

The $1.5 million pushed the annual giving for the home furnishings industry for the 2011-2012 year to $2.5 million.

City of Hope was founded in 1913 and will be marking its Centennial anniversary next year, and the National Home Furnishings Industry chapter will celebrate its 50 year affiliation with the hospital next year.
