Casey Named Sustainable Furnishings Council President

The Sustainable Furnishings Council has named Margaret Casey president.
Casey, currently a consultant for the Presidio Trust in San Francisco, helped found the SFC and played a pivotal role in its growth. Jeff Hiller, outgoing SFC president and principal of PROaction Marketing Group, remains on the SFC board.
Casey's experience also includes serving as director of programming at World Market Center Las Vegas; and associate publisher of Home Furnishings Business.
"Margaret brings a seasoned appreciation of the business of the home furnishings industry coupled with an up-to date understanding of the environmental concerns of its customer base," said Bob Maricich, CEO of International Market Centers. "SFC is tremendously fortunate to have Margaret Casey take the helm."

Members of the SFC board of directors include: Vice-President Steve Freeman, Room & Board; Treasurer Greg Harden, Harden Furniture; Secretary Mark Comolli, Rainforest Alliance; Jeff Hiller, PROaction Marketing Group; Christina Nicholson, Williams-Sonoma; Mitchell Gold, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams; Peggy Burns, Circle Furniture; Kathryn Fernholz, Dovetail Partners; and Mary Jane Grigsby, Adesso Designs. Founder Gerry Cooklin, Arte y Madera, is ex officio on the board.
