Update: High Point loses furniture industry leader

HIGH POINT -- High Point Furniture Industries announced on its website that co-founder and board chairman Harry Samet died today. He was 80. Samet, a 1953 UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, served as president of Bnai Israel Synagogue for several terms and on various boards, including City of Hope and Industries of the Blind, according to his obituary.
