Comfort Solutions Sets $1 Million St. Jude's Goal

By Home Furnishings Business in Community/Charitable Support on March 22, 2012 Mattress vendor Comfort Solutions has released new details on its 2012-13 outreach program involving St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Comfort Solutions aims to raise at least $1 million for the world-renowned hospital by March 31, 2013.

"We hope to achieve this goal not only by making additional contributions based on  sales of our own products, but also through donations tied to sales by retailers who participate in this meaningful program," said Dave Roberts, company president and COO. "This is an extremely worthy cause which impacts children on a global basis. We're proud to help support the dreams of families who have critically ill children at St. Jude."

Dealers who join in the fund-raising effort receive promotional support from TV personality Kathie Lee Gifford. Gifford is featured in customizable retail television commercials intended to help build awareness and encourage support in local markets for the hospital's research and treatment programs.

Gifford is currently featured on NBC's Today Show and also is the former co-host of Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, which aired on ABC from 1985 to 2000.

Along with its corporate sponsorship, sales donations and retailer fund-raising initiatives, Roberts said Comfort Solutions also is exploring other giving components to its mission.

"We're currently in discussion with several research partners on sleep-related studies and projects that would facilitate and support the work of St. Jude," he said.

Founded by the late actor and entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude Hospital was established on the premise that "no child should die in the dawn of life." The facility is dedicated to the care of children with catastrophic diseases and has treated children in the United States and from more than 70 countries for nearly 50 years.
