Lincolnton's Cochrane to Share His Edge

Lincolnton Furniture CEO Bruce Cochrane will join a panel of success stories at the May 6-8
Home Furnishings Industry Conference in Palm Springs, Calif.
The "Gaining the Edge" sessions at the conference feature retailers and manufacturers who are surviving, and thriving, during a world of uncertainty. Cochrane will joining the stage with industry veterans Pedro Capo,
El Dorado Furniture, Miami Gardens, Fla.; Satya Tiwari,
Surya Rugs, Calhoun, Ga.; and Larry Miller,
Sit 'n Sleep, Gardena, Calif.
Each will share the journey their family-owned businesses took over the yearsfacing challenges, thinking outside of the box, leading during uncertainty, giving back to their communities, celebrating family and much more.

On Monday morning of the conference, Capo and Tiwari will share their unique perspective of coming from immigrant families that built home furnishings empires. The story of El Dorado Furniture dates back to the 1920s in Cuba and includes fleeing from Castro's regime, to becoming the largest Hispanic furniture retailer in the country. Tiwari's father, Surya, brought his company into the United States in 1986, and today Surya Rugs not only manufacturers rugs, but also creates an assortment of handcrafted pillows, throws, fine art pieces and a variety of table and floor lamps.
Tuesday morning starts off with Miller and Cochrane sharing how their own companies have "Gained the Edge" and overcome challenges. Sit 'n Sleep struggled in its early days but turned its luck around with creative, and memorable, advertising. Today, Sit 'n Sleep prides itself on giving back to the community that has made it successful, and is a Top 100 store. Cochrane has made national headlines recently with his company's "Made in America--Again" story. Lincolnton Furniture is a Made in America success story and has been featured on the NBC show Rock Center with Brian Williams.
