Agio Joins High Point Market

By Home Furnishings Business in on March 21, 2012 Casual furniture vendor Agio International Co. will exhibit at next month's High Point Market in Showplace.

Agio will exhibit in an 1,834-square-foot showroom in Showplace, space 1512.  In addition, Agio will provide outdoor sets for attendees at the Sunset on 3 hospitality events being held on Showplace's third-floor balcony during market.

"We are coming to High Point because we know there are indoor retailers who are ready to enter or expand their offerings in the outdoor casual category," said Bob Gaylord, president. "If an indoor retailer is ready to make the jump into outdoor, or increase their offerings in the category, we want to be there to discuss the opportunity with them. High Point provides a perfect venue to introduce ourselves and our line."

Casual furniture and accessories are steadily strengthening their presence at the High Point Market, with at least 50 companies offering products in these categories at the spring show. Among the producers showing outdoor furnishings are well-known names such as Barlow Tyrie, Brown Jordan, Lane Venture, Lloyd/Flanders, Telescope and Woodard.

"We have seen more and more traditional furniture and home décor retailers coming to High Point specifically looking for products to enhance their offerings in the outdoor/casual segment," said Julie Messner, vice president of leasing for International Market Centers. "In turn, over the last few years we have seen an influx of casual manufacturers showing in High Point in order to reach this distribution channel."
