Modern home furnishings manufacturer Gus Design and retail partners in its "Keep On Giving!" promotion collected more than 2,100 pounds of food for local food banks.
During the month-long event in January, consumers that brought three non-perishable food items into a participating Gus retailer received 15 percent MSRP on Toronto-based Gus Modern's upholstery, dining, storage, lighting, and accessories. Collected food was distributed by the participating retailers to local food banks in their respective communities.
"The Gus Keep On Giving Event was a huge success for our store and for our community," said Sean Colohan, manager of Gus retailer Stylegarage in Vancouver, British Columbia. "Hunger is a year-round issue, and so we were excited to work with Gus to collect donations at a time of year when food banks need the support. Our customers were glad to know that their contributions would help those in need in the local community."
