Hooker Furniture Profits up in Q3

The lower sales were the result of continued soft consumer demand, the company said. For the first nine months of 2012, Hooker's net income was $4.4 million, up from $3.4 million last year. CEO Paul Toms Jr. said there have been some signs of improving order activity in the last 60 days, though the economy remains a big uncertainty.
