Smith Named VP Sales for Southwest at Boyd

By Home Furnishings Business in on December 7, 2011 Dirk Smith has been named vice president of sales of the southwest region for Boyd Specialty Sleep.

Smith is based in the Dallas area and is responsible for sales and sales development for the company's bedding and accent furniture divisions across 10 southern states. Smith reports to Dennis Boyd, president.

A six-year veteran of Sealy, Smith "has a solid record of mattress sales, sales management and marketing performance involving a number of key retailers and chains, including national accounts," Boyd said. "His proven industry expertise in the south will be very valuable to our continued development of the southwest region and to the growth of our companies overall."

Smith was with Sealy from 1995 until the middle of this year. Prior to that, he was in food sales and distribution, including two years with Campbell's Soup Co.
