American West, Worldwide Logistics Enter Service Agreement

By Home Furnishings Business in Business Strategy on October 9, 2011 West Coast-based transportation company American West has entered into a service agreement with Worldwide Logistics.

Under the agreement, American West will serve customers out of its Dallas facility for Worldwide. Worldwide will close its Dallas facility by the end of October, and American West will service all pool distribution customers and 3PL customers.

American West will also serve customers for less-than-a-truckload shipments originating from the West Coast for distribution to Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Worldwide will continue to provide LTL service to these states from North Carolina, Virginia and other select East Coast locations.

To ensure a smooth transition, American West has agreed to a 60-day period in which it will honor Worldwide specific customer rate agreements.
