Vermont Woods Supports Hurricane Irene Relief

By Home Furnishings Business in Community/Charitable Support on September 19, 2011

Vermont Woods Studios Furniture, Vernon, Vt., donated 100 percent of profits from all furniture sold online or in its showroom Saturday to Hurricane Irene relief.

Funds raised will be donated to the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund. Hurricane Irene wrought major damage in Vermont, washing out almost 300 roads and leaving many towns isolated and without food, water or power. Two weeks later, hundreds of Vermont families still need assistance.

"Our thoughts and concerns are with our fellow Vermont residents and businesses as they face the challenges of rebuilding their homes and communities," said Peggy Farabaugh, co-owner of Vermont Woods Studios. "At Vermont Woods Studios we were fortunate to be spared the destruction experienced by so many and as a company we are eager to contribute to the relief efforts now in place for those impacted. Our craftspeople are scattered throughout the state, and while none have been directly impacted they have shared stories of their surrounding communities who have lost homes, roads and businesses."
