Bob Timberlake will be keynote speaker at the annual Designer Appreciation Day hosted by the High Point Design Center on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Antique & Design Center in Historic Market Square, ground floor.
The Lexington, N.C., artist's talk, titled "Design from the Heart," will cover his work in the furniture industry for more than 40 years, including his newest collections of furniture with Century Furniture. A lunch sponsored by the Market Square showrooms will be served prior to his presentation.
A professional artist and designer in the American realist style, Bob Timberlake is renowned for lifelike depictions of his rural North Carolina home. His 1990 The World of Bob Timberlake home furnishings line pioneered the eclectic, lifestyle furniture look and remains the world's best-selling furniture brand. In 2010, Mr. Timberlake was inducted into the American Association of Furniture Hall of Fame.
"We are excited to have a speaker as engaging and celebrated as Bob Timberlake to address our attendees," said Betsy Lindsay, president of the High Point Design Center. "His enthusiasm and warmth are exactly what we want our designers to feel when they work with the High Point Design Center member showrooms, and we are thrilled to be able to thank our designers with this special day."
