U.S. June Retail Sales Up Slightly

U.S. retail sales edged up 0.1 percent in June, after dipping 0.1 percent in May, as a rebound in receipts from auto dealers offset the biggest drop in gasoline sales in a year, the Commerce Dept said. Sales excluding gasoline rebounded 0.3 percent after declining 0.2 percent in May.
U.S. producer prices in June posted their steepest decline since February 2010 as energy prices eased, suggesting inflation pressures at the wholesale level are abating. The Producer Price Index slumped 0.4 percent, twice as fast as expected, following a 0.2 percent rise
