Musher Jeff King to Promote Paramount Sleep Mattress

By Home Furnishings Business in Mattresses on July 1, 2011

Iditarod musher Jeff King will serve as spokesman for Paramount Sleep's Back Performance mattress line.

King, four-time Iditarod champion, came out of retirement Saturday to enter the 40th Iditarod dog-sled race across Alaska. He'd taken a one-year hiatus from the race.

"I needed a break. I needed to go spend some time doing some other things," King said, and one of those things was getting a good night's sleep. "I had no idea what a great night sleep on a Back Performance FE Alaskan King Model could do for me."

Paramount€™s Back Performance mattresses offer a balanced combination of comfort and support for active lifestyles. Advanced coil technologies provide proper posture alignment for a healthy spine while layers of premium zoned foam and Memory Foam respond to the body with pressure-relieving comfort for deep, restorative sleep.

"We developed the Back Performance collection specifically for people like Jeff who lead an active lifestyle," said Richard Fleck, chief marketing officer of Paramount Sleep, Norfolf, Va. "They shouldn't have to choose between comfort and support."

All Back Performance mattresses offer breathable Memory Foam that molds to an individual's unique shape, while four distinct models allow for a choice of features.

"We're thrilled that Jeff, who is the epitome of the active lifestyle, has chosen Paramount's Back Performance mattress for a good night's sleep," Fleck said. "We look forward to working with him as the collection's new spokesperson."

King€™s victories include not only the 1,049 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race in 1993, 1996, 1998, and 2006, but also more than two dozen first place finishes in races all across Alaska. During the past 20 years, King has logged more than 100,000 miles on a dog sled. He was inducted into the Iditarod Hall of Fame in 1999 and is a skilled dog trainer who recently spoke at the 2011 International Association of Canine Professionals Conference.
