Canada Retail Sales Rise 0.3%

The results overall were below the expectations of analysts for an increase of 0.5% on the month, and well below the consensus estimate of a 0.5% growth excluding motor vehicles and parts sales. In fact, excluding sales at motor vehicle and parts dealers, retail sales in April were flat.
