Trex, Poly-Wood Expand Outdoor Furniture License

By Home Furnishings Business in Casual Furniture on June 15, 2011

Decking and railing maker Trex Co. has expanded its license with Poly-Wood to develop additional categories of outdoor furniture.

Under the expanded agreement, the TrexOutdoor Furniture collection will grow to include porch swings, rockers and benches along with retractable patio and deck shade umbrellas, and will complement low-maintenance and eco-friendly Trex wood-alternative outdoor living spaces.

"Our relationship with Poly-Wood has significantly expanded our brand presence in the outdoor living arena," said Ron Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. "With the expansion of our agreement, we'll be able to not only offer consumers a complete spectrum of outdoor furnishings and accessories, but also provide our professional partners with additional opportunities for sales."

The Trex Outdoor Furniture collection currently includes seating options like Adirondack chairs, ottomans, settees, sofas and chaise lounges, as well as coffee tables, side tables and dining sets. Each piece is available in a variety of distinctive colors that may be mixed and matched with Trex Transcend decking and railing for a completely customized outdoor living space.

Created from Poly-Wood's unique blend of high-density polyethylene raw materials, the furniture is manufactured from more than 90 percent recycled content--including post-consumer materials, such as milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles.
