High Point Hopeful on Showroom Deal's Impact

The doomsday economic scenario that some in the city feared since word surfaced months ago of a monumental deal involving the High Point Market didn't come to pass this week.

The High Point Enterprise has reported since earlier this year on a deal that would bring the three main High Point Market showrooms and the World Market Center in Las Vegas under one ownership.

Some High Pointers had expressed fears privately and publicly that such a deal could lead to the erosion or elimination of the city and stateâs single-largest economic event.
