Weaver Furniture Sales Holds Food Drive

By Home Furnishings Business in Community/Charitable Support on May 9, 2011

Weaver Furniture Sales, Shipshewana, Ind., held its annual food drive during its Amish Furniture Sale Friday and Saturday.

The retailer partnered with the LaGrange County Clothes and Food Basket, an organization located in Northern Indiana providing help for those in need.

"We are trying to get people excited about helping their neighbors here in Northern Indiana with food donations and our hope is that the discounts on our furniture and the food and drink that we are providing in the furniture store during those two days will help in that regard," stated LeRoy Weaver, owner of Weaver Furniture Sales.

During the sale, customers bringing canned food and other non-perishable food items for the LaGrange County Clothes and Food Basket received up to 50 percent off select close-out items and 15 percent off storewide. Those bringing three or more food items received an additional discount.

"Despite the improving economy we can't forget those without and we believe our customers will help us have a successful food drive as they have in the past," Weaver said.
