Cargill BiOH of Minneapolis, has teamed with WorldBed this month for an online campaign to support disaster relief for countries such as recently ravaged Japan.
For every online "Like" BiOH receives April 4-22, Cargill will donate one dollar to the not-for-profit organization, in any amount up to $2,000. Each cot-sized emergency relief field bed costs around $38 and is delivered by WorldBed to people in need.
Every individual who likes the BIOH fan page also will be eligible to receive one of four Target store gift cards valued at $50. Winners will be selected at random and all prizes will be distributed after winning status is verified.
Cargill's Biobased Polyurethanes business unit is the maker of BiOH polyols, an ingredient for flexible foam used in a host of consumer products including bedding, mattresses, furniture, carpet cushion, and automotive seats, and is made from renewable soybean oil.
WorldBed was created in 2005 to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina, and has since provided relief beds featuring specialized three-inch water resistant, medical grade covered foam to citizens of Haiti, Chile, Africa, and Japan. Anatomic Global, a California-based manufacturer of memory foam sleep products, is the organizations founding sponsor.
WorldBeds goal is to distribute 200,000 beds worldwide to places and people in need.
