Furniture Industry Hits $1.2M for City of Hope

By Home Furnishings Business in on April 4, 2011 The National Home Furnishings Industry raised $1.2 million for medical research at the City of Hope. The figure represents a 15 percent increase over last year's total.

The industry celebrated the Spirit of Life dinner Sunday night at Grandover Resort and honored Mike Huber, CEO of Dulles, Va.-based Belfort Furniture and Stefanie Lucas, president and CEO of Rowe Fine Furniture.

The new campaign is now underway, and the next event is the West Coast Golf and Tennis Tournament set for Monday, June 6 in Coto de Caza, Calif., Golf and Racquet Club. The summer event will honor Earl Kluft, owner of E.S. Kluft & Co.

In addition to the summer golf and tennis tournament, the group has two other events scheduled this year. The Midwest dinner will be held at The Art Institute of Chicago, Aug. 15, and a Northeast dinner cruise in New York Saturday, Sept. 17.
