DOC Initiates 2010 Bedroom Furniture Review

By Home Furnishings Business in Bedroom on February 28, 2011

The U.S. Department of Commerce has initiated an administrative review of wooden bedroom furniture shipments from China in 2010.

The process is part of a 2005 antidumping order that imposed duties on Chinese-made bedroom furniture. The original order dictated annual reviews for five years. In December, the International Trade Commission ruled that duties should remain in place on subject merchandise after a "sunset review" of the antidumping order, clearing the way for DOC to initiate another review this year shipments during 2010.

The 2010 review will examine 180-plus Chinese manufacturers of wood bedroom furniture. Click here and scroll down for a complete list of these manufacturers, all of which had qualified for a separate duty rate lower than the prohibitive China-wide duty in the most recent segment of antidumping proceedings in which they participated.
