Vermont-based designer and retailer of glass, pottery, tabletop accessories and furniture Simon Pearce will close its West Chester, Pa., location.
The location's restaurant and glassblowing workshop closed Wednesday, but the retail store will sell "seconds" at 30 percent off before closing Feb. 13.
Simon Pearce, and company President Rob Adams made the announcement to the team at the West Chester location this morning. Mr. Pearce remarked, "The decision to close our facility in West Chester has been an extremely difficult one," said President Rob Adams. "We care deeply about the people who have worked so hard to provide a great experience for our customers, but after 10 years we know that this decision is the right one for our business."
The decision was made in large part to allow the company to further focus on its core business, producing and marketing hand-blown glass, handmade pottery and unique home accents and furnishings.
While no immediate plans were announced, Simon Pearce plans to continue growing existing retail partnerships in the area while cultivating new partnerships with independent retailers.
