Furniture retailer Boyles Furniture and Rugs is going out of business.
The 61-year-old company has hired a promotion specialist to run the going-out-of-business sale at its two stores in Pineville, N.C., and High Point. The liquidation sale begins Thursday.
The retailer closed its stores over the holidays to get ready for the sale with
Great American Furniture Services. Boyles has been an institution for over 60 years in the community, and we are pleased to have been selected to assist with the closing promotion, said Susan Bankston, vice president of marketing for Great American Furniture Services. This sale is going to allow a once in a lifetime opportunity for consumers up and down the East Coast. Boyles was always known for better quality, high-end furniture and one of kind oriental and Persian rugs. Now everyone can afford furniture and rugs at the going out of business sale at Boyles.
At one time, Boyles has annual sales of just over $270 million in 34 locations. Boyles is owned by Hendricks Furniture Group in Conover, N.C., which filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in June 2009. The retailer emerged from the filing in Jan. 2010.
