Alexis Designs Opens in Michigan

A new home furnishings retailer, Alexis Designs, has opened in Grandville, Mich., the Grand Rapids Press reported Wednesday.
The 3,000-square-foot store pairs a design shop with the Design Cafe.
"My whole goal was to bring to the area a more Chicago-style feel so its not the same old thing, said Dana Rickers, owner. "I have products from all over the world with a focus on unique, hard-to-find pieces."
The store features customizable furniture designs by Candice Olson, author and host of the show "Divine Design with Candice Olson" on HGTV; and has four designers on staff. One side of the store is a cafe where customers can relax in some of the custom furniture Rickers sells.
