Texas furniture retailer Lacks Valley Stores received a flood of calls and e-mails this week after Lacks Home Furnishings announced it would close 36 Texas stores.
Lacks Valley Stores, McAllen, Texas, a family-owned furniture operation with ten stores throughout the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Laredo, has been forced to respond to countless inquiries from customers and suppliers following Victoria, Texas-based Lacks Home Furnishings' announcement. As a result, the management team at Lacks Valley Stores is stressing to customers and vendors its business is healthy and strong; and Lacks Valley Stores has no business ties to Lack's Stores, Inc. of Victoria, Texas.
"We're celebrating 75 years in South Texas," says Lacks Valley Stores' CEO Lee Aaronson. "Thousands of families have shopped in our stores."
Its stores are located on the Texas border from Laredo to Port Isabel, including locations in Brownsville, Harlingen, Edinburgh, Pharr, McAllen, Mission and Rio Grande City; and the 140,000-square-foot Lacks Valley Store in McAllen.
