International Bedding Shuffles Operations Management

Bedding supplier International Bedding has reorganized and expanded its operations group with several new appointments and promotions.
Were preparing for the future by broadening our capabilities on the operations side, while at the same time focusing our staff on more specific functions and opportunities, said Dan Hige, president and COO.
IB has promoted Bruce Miller from vice president of logistics and continuous improvementthe job he has held since 2008to the newly created position of vice president of strategic implementation. In his new post, Miller oversees domestic and international initiatives for the company that involve logisitics, supply and continuous improvement. He reports to Hige.
With new responsibility for the day-to-day operations of IBs five production facilities, Ed Wolff has been promoted to vice president of manufacturing. He also reports to Hige. Along with managing IBs factories, Wolff will team with sales and operations on product development projects. He joined IB in 2007 as operations manager of the companys largest factory in Pennsylvania.
Succeeding Wolff in his former position is IBs Steve Boucher, who was promoted from plant manager to operations manager at the Pennsylvania facility. Both Miller and Wolff assume Higes former responsibilities as vice president of manufacturing, as well as the expanded functions in their respective posts.
In another executive appointment, IB has named Andy Cuppia to the newly created position of vice president of product development and operations, reporting to Wolff.
Cuppia, who holds certifications in lean manufacturing, will oversee operations at IBs Arizona factory, in addition to heading up the companys product development function. Prior to joining IB, Cuppia held corporate vice president of operations positions during the years 1998 to 2006 at Simmons,
Serta and
Spring Air Co. Most recently he was vice president of
Global Supply Chain Partners, a Georgia-based consultancy.
Reporting to Cuppia is Jonathan Munoz, who has been promoted from assistant plant manager to plant manager of the companys Arizona facility. Munoz joined IB in 2006.
