Lorts Partners with Atlanta Designer for Furniture Collection

By Home Furnishings Business in Case Goods on August 25, 2010 Lorts Manufacturing has signed an agreement with an Atlanta-based interior designer to create a furniture collection set for introduction in 2011.

The designer, Christy Dillard of Dillard Design, will work with Lorts to create the Christy Dillard collection that will incorporate classic silhouettes with unexpected details, bold color and styling selections with a contemporary perspective.

€œWe are eager to have Christy bring her fresh point of view and distinctive aesthetic to the marketplace through a new and proprietary collection of furniture for Lorts,€ said Ty Lorts, president of Lorts.  €œWe are confident that a recognized and successful interior designer like Christy will be an inspiration to designers that love our line, and that the collaboration will complement and add depth to Lorts€™ strong existing line.€

For more than 17 years, Dillard has worked to create spaces that combine classic details with elements that reflect the evolving nature of design. A graduate of Auburn University and a member of ASID, Dillard is involved in the Southeastern interior design community and has participated in the Atlanta Symphony Associates Decorator's Show House several years.

Her work has appeared in several publications, including Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles; Atlanta Magazine's HOME; Better Homes and Garden's Window & Wall Ideas; Today's Custom Home; and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"My design aesthetic pulls from many influences, ranging from traditional to contemporary, and I will be bringing that to Lorts with this new collection," Dillard said. "A mixture of materials is used to bring a unique flair to the collection, appealing to many different clients. The look is fresh but will have a timeless quality that I like to use for all projects."
