Police tasered a man suspected of burglarizing a Tulare, Miss., furniture store, the Visalia Times-Delta reported Wednesday.
Adam Jimenez was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest in connection with a burglary at the furniture store, Oak Furniture Liquidators. A 16-year-old boy also was arrested in connection with the burglary.
Police responded to a burglar alarm at the store, where they apprehended the suspects, one of whom was combative.
At 1:22 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at Oak Liquidators, 1155 North Cherry St. The front glass doors had been smashed and officers heard voices inside the business at the Tulare Town and Country Village Shopping Center.
"The Taser had to be deployed to prevent resistance and injury," Tulare Police Sergeant Richard House said in the report. Officers recovered $9 in coins believed to have been taken from the store's register and a computer screen.
