HomeFurnishings.com Teams with Interior Design Society

By Home Furnishings Business in Internet on August 12, 2010

HomeFurnishings.com and the Interior Design Society have formed a strategic marketing partnership through which IDS members may be prominently featured on HomeFurnishings.com's  consumer Web portal.

With this new partnership, participating IDS members will be featured on a new "Find a Designer" locator on the HomeFurnishings.com site. Designers can designate the markets they service and include contact information as well as a link to their own Web site, where consumers can read testimonials or view photos showcasing the designer's work. Designers also have the opportunity to have photos of their work included within the image galleries on HomeFurnishings.com.

Promotions within the design community are began in July to invite designers to participate in the HomeFurnishings.com program. HomeFurnishings.com will promote the new Find a Designer locator on its site as well as through its social network on Twitter and Facebook.

"The HomeFurnishings.com site inspires consumers with home furnishings and decorating ideas by providing how-to articles and a vast selection of furniture lines plus the retailers who sell them," said Doug Kays, HomeFurnishings.com CEO. "Consumer feedback has revealed that many consumers want additional help in transforming the ideas they see online into cohesive and aesthetically pleasing room designs in their home. Both the independent and the store employed IDS members will play an important role in stimulating sales for the home furnishings industry by satisfying this key consumer need. They will take the consumer, who is ready to update their décor, and lead them through the design phase and remove the barriers that would otherwise delay purchasing new furniture and home furnishings."

"We see this partnership as a perfect complement to the goals of HomeFurnishings.com--to take the consumer from home furnishings design inspiration to a completed installation," said Pamela White, CEO of Interior Design Society. "And, the tens of thousands of consumers coming to HomeFurnishings.com each month are highly qualified leads for our designer members."
