Artifacts Fine Furniture to Close on Cape Cod

By Home Furnishings Business in Furniture Retailing on August 12, 2010

Artifacts Fine Furniture will close its furniture store this fall in Hyannis, Mass., the Cape Cod Times reported Wednesday.

"There's so many changes in the business," Margaret Ross, co-owner, said in the report. "A furniture showroom is superfluous."

Grand Rapids, Mi.-based Lynch Sales Co. will coordinate a going-out-of-business sale starting this weekend.

Artifacts started after Ross and co-owner John Bredice met as fellow employees at the now-defunct Myers Furniture in Hyannis, where she was a designer and he was a buyer and manager.
