BoConcept Adds 2nd San Francisco Location

By Home Furnishings Business in Furniture Retailing on June 21, 2010

Danish furniture retail chain BoConcept has opened a second San Francisco furniture store with a new location on Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Sunday.

"We were looking for an opportunity during this recession and really hadn't found anything until December of last year," said Caroline Krogh-Jensen, co-owner of an existing 2-year-old BoConcept store on 101 Townsend St. in 2008. "This seemed like a good opportunity. We felt we weren't reaching the northern section of the city with the Townsend location, and we love the neighborhood."

The 2,300-square-foot Fillmore Street location is an experiment for the international retail chain, which usually doesn't open stores of less than 4,000 square feet.
