Stone House Furniture has closed its doors after 38 years serving Pennsylvania's Bucks County area after completing a going-out-of-business sale in May.
Karin Ernest, who owns Stone House with daughter Heather Wessner said the store in the farm country of Mechanicsville, Pa., just couldn't "handle the money part of it."
Ernest and Wessner retained professional sales promotion company Profit Management Promotions, Jamison, Pa., to meet with the family and suggest a mutually beneficial plan to run a going out of business event.
PMP was hired in the beginning of the year and the sale began in March. The sale should conclude by the end of May. Says Ron Cooper, director of sales for PMP, "It's very sad to let go of a store like Stone that has serviced so many customers over the last four decades," said Ron Cooper, PMP's director of sales. "We are all working very hard to not only sell all of the inventory but to also assist in the selling of this unique building."
PMP has been assisting furniture retailers all over the country for the last 25 years by running profitable sales events.
