La-Z-Boy Honored by Ronald McDonald Charities
The Ronald McDonald House Charities has honored furniture supplier La-Z-Boy as the recipient of the 2013 of the RMHC Outstanding Stewardship Award.
La-Z-Boy has been a supporter of RMHC since 2008 with the donation of furniture to various chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Since then, La-Z-Boy has increased its support extending its donation to RMHC chapters in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. With the donation of more than 5,000 pieces of furniture to date, the company and its network of owners have been an integral part of the Charity's ability to provide comfort, care and compassion to families and their children through the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programs.
"We are very proud to honor La-Z-Boy whose unwavering commitment to RMHC families extends even beyond generous financial support and product donation to the promotion of our cause among their employees, Furniture Galleries and customers," said Sheila Musolino, COO of RMHC. "La-Z-Boy is vital to our ability to ensure that families dealing with the medical crisis of a child are able to stay together so their child can heal better and cope faster."
RMHC selects and formally recognizes a corporate donor for its extraordinary contributions to the Charity and its local Chapters at this conference which hosts more than 1,400 RMHC staff, board members and volunteers from more than 40 countries and regions.
"It is hard to comprehend the level of stress, uncertainty and worry families must feel when facing the illness of a child," said Kurt Darrow , president and CEO of La-Z-Boy. "Our commitment to RMHC goes beyond the furniture we provide. It extends into the local communities, through fundraising and volunteering activities. We are honored to be associated with such a remarkable organization. We are grateful to know that, every day, we are able to provide comfort to RMHC families so they can stay focused on helping their children recover."
