Meridian Furniture, a fast-growing furniture brand with a vast product line of affordably priced, high-style designs, continues to increase its presence with leading independent retailers and designers. Most recently, the company partnered with Gardner White Furniture and Mattress on the outfitting of Chalet 313, a high-profile pop-up hospitality space by Downtown Detroit Partnership.
Located in Detroit’s renowned Campus Martius Park, Chalet 313 designed by Gardner White is a stunning, two-story glass-enclosed heated lounge offering panoramic views of the city’s iconic ice-rink and surrounding downtown skyline. Sponsored and designed by Gardner White, the temporary space opened for the first time this season.
“Gardner White jumped at the opportunity to design the space, with the entire process overseen by our team, from choosing the furnishings to the layout and installation,” said Deborah Burkey, Director of B2B Sales and Design Services for Gardner White. “Since the Chalet is highly visible, it was very important to us that the furniture we spec’d really stood out and felt on trend. We turned to Meridian Furniture as our main furniture source as the product is reflective of the vibe and lounge-like atmosphere we were going for.”
According to Burkey, Meridian was a great fit, not only because of the company’s on-trend style and color offerings, but the fact that the entire project was operating on a very tight turnaround.
Known for stocking a vast ever-changing selection of first-to-market modern furniture designs in multiple colors, sizes, and finish options ready for immediate delivery from the company’s East Coast warehouse at any given time, Meridian Furniture was able to fulfill the large order necessary to outfit the entire space with lightning speed.
“Given how many hundreds of people would be using the space every day all winter long, we knew we needed durable furniture, with tables that could stand up to both hot and cold beverages, and cozy, comfortable upholstered seating, and we needed it delivered fast,” Burkey said. “Meridian really came through. We finalized our furniture order on a Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., the trucks showed up at our docks on Tuesday morning.”
The space was a hit with all concerned from the moment it opened. “The night of the opening there were local news stations broadcasting and they were all borrowing Meridian’s furniture pieces for their sets, so we got lots of eyeballs. There is no question it has been a homerun, and we accomplished our goals. We have since been working with Meridian on several additional projects, including senior apartment staging, multi-family homes, as well as some new developments.”
“On the floor at Gardner White for a little more than six months, we were honored to work on this special, high-profile project with their design team,” said Michael Rosilio, president of Meridian Furniture. “It was a pleasure to help them deliver on their promise to consumers in their marketplace that young or old, modern or traditional, whatever their style, taste or budget, they have something that speaks to their lifestyle.”
