Cancer Touches Every Life - Part 3

Wrap Up.  My three week adventure is over and I’m back at my desk.  In those 3 weeks I slept in 19 different beds.  I rode over 1,300 miles and climbed about 70,000 feet.  To put that in perspective, if you stacked Mt. Everest on top of itself and put Mt. Whitney on top – that’s a lot of climbing!  I’m not bragging or complaining; I had a fantastic time and raised over $38,000, but am still shooting for $40,000.  I thank each and every one of you for your donations, and know that with your support we are closer to our goal of $60,000,000 this year to find more cures and treatments for cancer.  We are truly making a difference.

Unfortunately, my group had 2 hospitalizations this year (heat exhaustion & facial fracture), but I was fortunate and kept the rubber on the road.  I must admit, like always, the end of the ride is an awkward Forest-Gump like moment when you stop riding and pack up your bike.  My subconscious wasn’t done, and every night I still dreamt of pushing back the miles on my bike.  Ah the stuff dreams are made of, and we are already planning our next even more outrageous Pre-PMC adventure.  Stay tuned.

I’ve attached a few more photos and will say goodbye until next year.  Until then, I encourage all of you to follow your dreams, go big and live life to its fullest.  The journey is an adventure so fill it with joy, wonder and love.

Again thank you to all my friends and donors, without which this would just be a long bike ride.  And for those of you still considering a donation, it’s not too late.  Below is a link and all donations go 100% to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
