Designer Show House Announced to Benefit Cancer Support Community

Aspire Design and Home Magazine has announced its partnership with  Artisan Builders and Harrison Design on the first-ever Aspire House McLean designer show house to benefit the Cancer Support Community organization. Acclaimed designer Mary Douglas Drysdale is the Aspire House McLean Design chair and will assist in selecting top design talent from across the country to breathe beauty into the newly built interiors.

Located at 952 Mackall Farms Lane, McLean, Virginia, construction is underway on the 9,600 square-foot home for the May 2020 show house opening. Set on nearly an acre of land, the two-story, 17-room residence is inspired by the classical elements of Monticello and its historic style of 16th-century Venetian architect Andrea Palladio.

“Palladio's studied use of space, proportion and material greatly inspired Monticello and is equally as relevant today,” said William H. Harrison, founder and principal architect of Harrison Design. "We simply reimagined the architecture using the resources available to us in the 21st century, offering modernized utility while retaining the sense of classical timelessness with material and form."

Aspire House McLean 2020 is a collaborative effort intended to showcase superlative design while raising awareness and funds for Cancer Support Community. As the largest professionally led nonprofit network of cancer support worldwide, the Cancer Support Community is dedicated to ensuring that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.

“Artisan loves these projects. The challenge of building a unique and innovative residence in collaboration with Aspire Design and Home magazine, Harrison Architects and a prolific designer like Mary Drysdale only brings out our finest effort,” said Artisan Partner, Stephen Yeonas, Jr. “To be able to support a charity like Cancer Support Community makes it a truly special experience.”

Thus far, Pella Windows, Siematic Kitchens and Sherwin-Williams have signed on as Aspire House McLean 2020 sponsors.  A complete list of designers and sponsors will be announced in the coming months.

Aspire House McLean will preview with a Grand Opening Gala and Fundraiser in May 2020 and remain open to the public through June 2020. For more information contact Lisa McMahon: 917.833.3509 or  lisa@lisamcmahon.com
