Caracole Names Tim O’Hare to New Merchandising Post

Casegoods and upholstery resource Caracole has appointed Tim O’Hare to the new position of senior vice president of creative merchandising.

O’Hare joins Caracole from the High Point-based design firm H. Thomas Keller and Associates. He was with the firm for 24 years and was a senior partner for the past 17 years. As senior partner and lead creative, he produced lines for many of the industry leaders, which included Caracole and Caracole’s parent company, Schnadig.

In his role with Caracole, he will lead the creative vision and overall product design for case goods and upholstery, as well as merchandising for all of Caracole’s brands – Classic, Modern, Compositions and Signature.

“Caracole has been known for creating memorable individual pieces of furniture that integrate well in a variety of interiors,” said O’Hare. “Moving forward, you will find an even more carefully curated perspective on our offerings. We are focusing on higher end details in everything from our designs to our hardware and our upholstery. We also plan to make it easier for designers and retailers to help their customers.

“For instance, at (the October) High Point Furniture Market, all of our offerings were pre-cut, significantly reducing delivery times. It’s these kinds of design and operational shifts that will take the company to the next level.”

“Over the past few years, we have expanded our line to include not only new designs, but collections that focus on high design,” added Scott Smith, president of Caracole. “We have worked with Tim for years as a freelance designer and have valued his insight on the future of our designs, so he will be a valuable new member of our team.”
