Opening Day Event to Feature Fashion Snoops and Trend Forecasting Panel for Fall HP Market

Focusing on up-and-coming global trends that will impact the home furnishings industry, High Point Market Authority has partnered with leading trend forecasting platform and consultancy, Fashion Snoops for an opening day event to kick-off the Fall Market.

The event will offer a preview into the business of trend forecasting as well as an in-depth discussion on how trends translate into home fashion with an all-star panel of leading design experts.

Entitled “The Future of Home Fashion – Discover the trends driving tomorrow’s style choices”, the event will begin with an overview discussion on global and cultural trends from Jaye Anna Mize, Home Interiors Director for Fashion Snoops. After the presentation, Mize will moderate a panel discussion on how these macro-trends translate into micro-trends in home furnishings. The all-star panel will include Pantone’s Vice President Laurie Pressman, Better Homes and Gardens Editor-in-Chief Stephen Orr, Crypton Home Fabrics Co-Founder Randy Rubin, and celebrity designer Kelli Ellis.

“The trends that we will see within the next two years are already beginning to take shape now,” commented Lily Berelovich, the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Fashion Snoops.

“It is a fascinating process to discover how cultural movements translate into future products, and we look forward to sharing it at the trend-setting powerhouse that is High Point Market.”

Two of the trends Fashion Snoops has revealed for 2017 will come to life in a Trend Gallery exhibit during Fall Market. Located on Commerce Street between Main Street and Wrenn Street, the exhibit will feature furnishings, accessories and Pantone color palettes pertaining to the trends “Old Havana” inspired by the opening of Cuba’s border and defined by repurposed relics and sun-bleached hues. The second trend, “Cove”, is a style shaped by the rugged California coastline that presents a new shift in minimalism heavily rooted in a natural environment.

“From Havana to High Point and California to Commerce St, our goal is to enhance the Market experience by showing the forms, colors, textures, and products that define Fashion Snoops’ two leading trends for Spring/Summer 2017,” commented Tom Conley, President and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “

We’re very excited to partner with Fashion Snoops on this exhibit, as we recognize that the inspirational experience is an important aspect of Market.”

Following the Opening Day Event, the Fashion Snoops Trend Gallery will kick-off with a panelist meet and greet at 11:00am on Saturday, October 22. It will remain open throughout Market from Saturday, October 22, through Tuesday, October 25, from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily.

The Opening Day Event will be held in the High Point Theatre on Saturday, October 22, from 9:00am to 10:30am. Doors will open at 8:30am and a special gift will be provided to the first 150 attendees. Details for both this event and the Trend Gallery can be found at www.highpointmarket.org/event/opening-day.
