City Furniture Opens Redesigned Showrooms

Home furnishings retailer City Furniture is opening its new Ashley Furniture HomeStore location in the Mall at Wellington Green and rolling out a new design look for its Pembroke Pines City Furniture showroom.

To mark the store opening and redesign, the retailer is donating a portion of the first-month sales at the two locations to Habitat for Humanity.

“We’re delighted to spotlight the fresh, new shopping experience at each of these locations and to continue growing our partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the markets we serve,” said Robert Ruiz, City Furniture vice president of store design and environment.

City Furniture relocated its Ashley Furniture HomeStore store to adjacent space within the Mall at Wellington Green to facilitate the Mall’s addition of a movie theater. The retailer is Southeast and Southwest Florida licensee for Ashley Furniture HomeStores. Designed with upscale finishes and fixtures, the 25,000-square-foot showroom is the first in South Florida built to Ashley Furniture HomeStore’s new Generation 6 design standards and boutique feel. With vintage market, contemporary living, “urbanology,” and other lifestyle display areas, the store features a range of furniture styles and home accents, along with an extensive bedding selection. With the $1.1 million renovation completed earlier this month, the retailer moved into the new space with no interruption of business.

The Pembroke Pines showroom underwent a $2 million interior renovation and exterior upgrade has enhanced the 58,659-square-foot store to showcase the next-generation interior design found in City Furniture’s newest stores. The store includes energy efficient lighting, expanses of glass, new flooring, wall covering and sleek fixtures and lays the backdrop for the store’s contemporary, Florida casual and traditional furnishings.

Habitat for Humanity of Broward’s relationship with City Furniture has been a mainstay for 15 years, with the Broward-based company’s ongoing donations of furniture products to Habitat for Humanity of Broward’s home improvement ReStore in Fort Lauderdale making it one of the organization’s largest corporate supporters. City Furniture has previously supported Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County during the grand opening of its expanded showroom in West Palm Beach.
