HTL Acquires High Point Showroom Complex

Upholstery supplier HTL International Holdings Limited has acquired a four-building showroom compound in High Point.

The buildings are located at 305 N. Main St. near the corner of English Road and marks the Singapore-based company’s first purchase of a U.S. property. The acquisition will be used for the company’s Market showroom.

Renovation of the space is expected to be completed in 2016.

“We take a long term view of the markets we operate in and this investment is testament to our commitment to our customers in this part of the world,” said Phua Yong Tat, group managing director of HTL. “U.S.A. is one of HTL’s biggest markets; the new showroom will augment our presence here. We continue to seek opportunities that would enable us to showcase our expertise in remarkable ways that would pleasantly surprise our customers.”

Once completed, the showroom will offer more than 50,000 square feet of space to accommodate the company’s leather and fabric upholstery lines.

“Our new location in High Point, with its history and reputation for being a significant part of the region's furniture cluster, is a boost to our strategic plans for North America,” said Gabriel Ho, general manager for Canada, the U.S. and Latin America. “We are excited with this new development as we will be better able to work the space for more purposeful operations throughout the year.”
