DOC Ponders Bedroom Antidumping Order Change

The U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration
has initiated a review that could revocate part of the antidumping order on wood bedroom furniture from China.

The review, based on a March 12 request from the Chinese manufacturer Techcraft, will examine the possibility of exempting certain wall bed systems from duties on bedroom furniture. On March 19, the American Furniture Manufacturers Committee for Legal Trade and Vaughan-Bassett Furniture, petitioners in the original antidumping action, stated that they agree with the scope exclusion language proposed by Techcraft, according to the Federal Register notice of the new review.

A determination on the proposed change in scope of the antidumping order on wood bedroom furniture from China is expected in about nine months.
